TalkTalk ups its speedspeed

COMMUNICATIONS company TalkTalk said this week that a £50,000 investment in new technology will provide faster and improved value broadband for customers in Kelso, Hawick and Berwick.

The company says the upgrade is part of a national programme to roll out its next generation network. Bosses say 93 per cent of the country will be covered later this year.

A deal offering six months’ free phone and broadband is on offer. And the company says it is helping local groups and organisations.

It cites a donation to Hawick Rugby Club for upgrading floodlighting and providing showers for junior teams.

A financial donation to Berwick RFC will help buy training equipment and kit for the youth team while Kelso will benefit by having its Christmas lights sponsored.

Talk Talk’s commercial director Tristia Clarke said : “We believe residents need a break in these tough times.

“If all homes within the Kelso. Hawick and Berwick areas exchanges signed up to Talk Talk Essentials, these areas could be £2,708,552 better off.”
