Health and beauty retailer Superdrug is moving out of Galashiels this weekend.
The firm, part of the Hong Kong-based A. S. Watson group, which has 800 UK branches, has announced it will close its Channel Street branch on Saturday.
But fears the town centre will be left with yet another empty shop were quickly assuaged by Superdrug, a spokesperson revealing that the premises would reopen on January 30 as a Savers health and beauty store.
Savers has 248 UK branches and is also a subsidiary of the A. S. Watson group.
“We would like to thank all our customers for their support over the years and confirm our nearest stores can now be found in Kelso and Hawick,” said the Superdrug spokesperson.
