Shop boost for Kelso

A FAMILY business in Kelso has expanded and opened a second shop in the town.

A Hume Country Clothing was founded in 1929 and still operates from its original premises in The Square.

A second shop has now opened in the Horsemarket in premises previously occupied by a gallery and collectables shop.

Two jobs have been created and the shop will be managed by Rob Bacon, the former manager of Orvis in the town and who has overseen the opening of a number of shops.

A company spokesman said: “The shop will focus on our reputation as a retailer in country clothing and focus on the more technical and outdoor wear brands that we offer.”
