The director and co-founder of a Selkirk-based business has been named as Scotland’s best accountant of the year for 2015.
Ian Main, director at Stark Main, won the accountant of the year award at the Scottish Accountancy and Finance Awards.
According to the judges,he demonstrated a clear strategic vision with a real personal approach to business.
Mr Main, who lives in Selkirk, has guided the company through a period of impressive growth since it was established in 2006.
His clear focus on ensuring client and staff happiness stood out to the judges.
Jim Stark, a fellow director at Stark Main, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for Ian and it is particularly commendable that the judges have recognised his approach to client and staff happiness and his personal approach to business.

The awards are judged by a panel of accountancy professionals and are regarded as the Scottish industry’s most prestigious accolades.
