School’s rugby deal

Earlston High School rugby is to benefit from a donation by well-known Borders building firm W. S. Crawford, writes Alan Lorimer.

The substantial five-figure sum is aimed at helping rugby and other sports at the school. The most visible part of the sponsorship will be 120 jerseys in the predominantly-blue colours of Earlston High School, which will be worn by the boys and girls for S1-S3 rugby and a set of jerseys for the senior team when they play in the Brewin Dolphin Cup.

“This is a really substantial donation and it’s underpinning the rugby at Earlston High School.

“This will provide a first aid kit, contact suits, post protectors and so on,” said Malcolm Changleng, faculty head of sport.
