A Borders business is on a mission to help local property owners cut their fuel bills and turn the region into one of the ‘greenest’ in Scotland.
And the firm has turned to Business Gateway Scottish Borders to help them do that.
Based in Langhaugh Industrial Estate in Galashiels, Renew Green Energy Ltd opened its doors last month.
The company, set up by Craig Richardson, 40, and Brian Middleton, 35, aims to be the region’s first fully comprehensive green energy company, providing free advice on the supply and installation of solar thermal panels, photovoltaic panels, wind turbines, heat pumps, biomass and heat recovery & ventilation systems.
Director Craig Richardson, said: “With utility bills set to rocket and with the Scottish Government looking to achieve 100 per cent of power from renewable sources by 2020, more and more people are thinking about green technology but don’t know where to start or who to speak to.
“We approached Business Gateway for help because it is a trusted source of information, and anyone thinking of starting a business turns to them for advice. We want our business to become the first port of call for anyone in the Borders wanting to find out more about sustainable energy and visit our Borders renewable centre.”
