Brett Investment, in Melrose, has marked its 10th anniversary by being shortlisted for the New Model Adviser awards.
New Model Adviser magazine announced the nominees that have shown commitment to their profession and passion for advice in their region.
Brett Investment is one of five financial planners to be nominated for the Scotland and Northern Ireland region.
The awards are designed to reward the best in financial planning across the UK and this is the second time Brett Investment has been nominated.
“It is a real achievement to add this year’s nomination to the one we received in 2008,” explained Jeremy Brett, managing director, pictured right.
“It shows that our approach to financial planning is making a real difference.”
Jeremy announced the news of the nomination at a 10th anniversary celebration held at Main Street Trading in St Boswells.
More than 80 clients were present at the evening, to witness the unveiling of a new marketing campaign and website (www.brettinvestment.com).
Having worked in the financial sector since 1992, Jeremy set up Brett Investment 10 years ago and the firm has steadily grown. In 2004, the company started working with clients on a fee basis, which it believes is the best way to offer truly objective advice.
“Experience has shown that once the concept of fees has been properly explained to clients, they much prefer working this way,” explains Jeremy.
He added: “It gives us a strong incentive to minimise our clients costs and maximise their account value.
“ After all, the only way our fees can grow is if the size of our client’s account grows.”
