Local Conservative MSP John Lamont has visited the Royal Mail delivery staff in Kelso to wish them luck ahead of the Christmas rush.
This is the busiest time of year for the team, with many delivery offices staying open late to deal with increased influx of letters and parcels.
During his visit this week, Mr Lamont met the staff who will be taking on the extra work over the next few weeks, and thanked them for their efforts.
“It is the busiest time of year for the staff at Kelso Delivery Office and I wanted to thank them for their hard work not only at Christmas but throughout the year,” said Mr Lamont.
“At this time of year, while we get a chance to relax, the Royal Mail staff will be working flat out.
“Over the coming weeks when many of us will be warm in our homes, they will be out in the cold and wet weather to make sure that we all get our Christmas mail.
“It was great to get a chance to thank them all in person for this work, as without it Christmas would simply not be the same.”
