At their weekly Primestock sale on November 19 John Swan Ltd had forward and sold 1033 Lambs and 281 Ewes.

Lamb numbers slightly tighter but recent dear late rates again maintained at this centre, larger numbers could easily be handled.

At their weekly Primestock sale on Monday John Swan Ltd sold 90 clean cattle, 91 OTM cattle, 3239 New Season lambs and 709 Ewes.

Bullocks (32) averaged 219.5p per kg and sold to 246p (+3.4p on week).

Heifers (58) averaged 222p per kg and sold to 255p (+2.8p on week).

91 Beef type OTM cattle averaged 118.4p per kg and sold to 190p (+10.1p on the week).

New season lambs averaged 180p per kg (+2p on the week) and sold to £94.50, top price 227p per kg for Beltex.

Ewes averaged £64.16, and sold to £117 for a Texel.

Heavy ewes averaged £70.68, Light ewes sold to £70.50 for Lleyn and averaged £47.77.

Longtown

The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart PLC held their Autumn sale of 733 lots of Cage Birds, Poultry & Waterfowl, Hatching Eggs and Equipment at Longtown on Saturday 22nd November, 2014.

A large entry of 549 lots of poultry were forward, which saw all good quality lots of birds and ducks sell to great demand, with less demand for poorer quality lots.

An increased entry of 123 lots of cage birds saw plenty of bidders ensuring all lots sold above expectations and reserves.

A smaller entry of equipment than usual was forward with all good clean lots selling exceptionally well.
