Borderers have the opportunity to decide how they would set Scottish Borders Council’s (SBC) budget.
SBC has launched a budget simulator on its website to give members of the public the chance to decide their own spending priorities and see how their choices would affect the many services provided by the council.
People can adjust the budget of £224.3million across the council’s four main departments – education and lifelong learning, environment and infrastructure, social work services, and the chief executive’s department – but must not go over budget by a penny.
Submissions from people using the simulator will be studied by SBC staff as part of a public consultation on the council’s budget plans.
The budget simulator is available at www.scotborders.gov.uk/budget
