A MAJOR roads artery in the centre of Galashiels is be closed overnight next week, writes Bob Burgess.
The closure is to allow surfacing of a new roundabout at the junction of Bridge Place, High Buckholmside and Ladhope Vale.
The roundabout is the last major operation on the town’s inner relief road project.
The roads will be closed from 6pm on Wednesday, July 4 until 6am the next day.
Southbound traffic accessing the A7 towards Selkirk will be diverted along the High Road and can re-joinn the A7 using Station Brae,
Traffic lights will be in place at the junction of the High Road and Melrose Road to allow the required traffic manoeuvres.
Northbound traffic will use the same diversion route in reverse.
