A HAWICK-based firm of electrical installation and maintenance specialists has been commended for its “outstanding delivery of customer service.”
Powertec Electrotechnical Services was one of only three organizations shortlisted in the strongly contested customer service category at the recent Select electrotechnical awards, held in association with CABLEtalk magazine in a recent ceremony at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow.
Select is the trade association for the electrotechnical industry in Scotland and its awards have established themselves as the benchmark for excellence in the sector.
Battling it out with local authorities and national franchises , Powertec championed the fight for smaller independent electrical business in Scotland, winning plaudits from the judges for its delivery of exceptionally high levels of customer service, and efficient working practices which resulted in significant savings for its customers including the Borders Sports and Leisure Trust (BSLT).
Powertec was highly commended on its cost-cutting measures and detailed logging systems of all electrical installation and maintenance of the BSLT’s eight sporting facilities.
Since taking over the trust’s general installation and maintenance programme, Powertec has been systematically labelling and recording all electrical circuitry. This, combined with a detailed logging system of all test results, has led to a simple-to-follow yet detailed monitoring system of all works carried out on a wide range of electrical activities associated with the running of a sporting and swimming pool environment.
This ensures that the BSLT maintenance team can structure a well-managed cyclical maintenance programme and keep the high standards of maintenance and health and safety required in their centres.
Powertec’s managing director, Graeme Anderson, commented: “Being short-listed is a real honour and further shows our commitment to quality and customer service.
“To reach a short list of three is a tremendous achievement and recognises the efforts of the entire team”.
The customer service category was won by Fife Council.
