A total of 33 jobs have been lost after a buyer for Caerlee Mills in Innerleithen could not be found.
Provisional liquidator KPMG confirmed the move today, with just three of the 36 staff members being retained for a short term basis to assist with winding down of the business.
There had been hope that a buyer would be found, with speculation of two interested parties.
But when no buyer was found, KPMG decided to cease all operations with immediate effect.
