despite celebrating their 30th anniversary this year, rock and soul veterans The Border Boogie Band have never recorded a studio album.
All that will change next month, with the band booked into the Sound Station studios in Galashiels.
To road test a clutch of new material and revive some covers from set lists spanning three decades, the outfit will perform a free gig in the town’s Bridge Inn tomorrow (Friday), starting at 9pm.
“We’ve made numerous live recordings over the years, but the last of any note – from our 2009 concert at the Eastgate Theatre – sold out long ago,” explained bassist Gavin Dickie.
“The songs for the new album have yet to be finalised, so we’ll be looking for feedback from the Bridge audience about what should or shouldn’t be included”.
