They say size isn’t everything.

And just to prove it, the Borders Model Boat Club’s annual regatta, held at St Boswells Boating Pond on Sunday, was a huge success.

Although the scale of the vessels are nothing compared to what you might see at Weymouth or Torbay, the enthusiasm of the boat builders and captains at this event is second to none.

The club holds two main events in the year: the other being a club fun day in late June.

These events are open to members of the public and, of course, to members of other model boat clubs.

They are informal days and give visitors an ideal opportunity to meet modellers of all interests and a chance to see a wide variety of craft afloat.

Members also meet monthly throughout the year, on the third Wednesday of each month in the Royal British Legion, St Boswells, at 7pm, for a programme of talks and demonstrations covering topics of interest to all modellers.
