ONE of Europe’s leading chamber ensembles will perform Beethoven’s Archduke Trio at Melrose Parish Church hall next Thursday.
The English Piano Trio is made up of three distinguished artists: Timothy Ravenscroft (piano), Jane Faulkner (violin) and Justin Pearson (cello).
They perform regularly at major UK venues and tour extensively abroad, and while specialising in music of the classical period, the trio also promotes works by contemporary composers.
In addition to the Beethoven trio, the last piece the composer played in public before his increasing deafness prevented further appearances as a pianist, they will play Colour of Blossoms for piano trio by Cecilia McDowall and Trio in D minor by Robert Schumann.
Tickets for the Melrose Music Society concert are available on the door, priced £12 for non-members with accompanied children free. The music starts at 7.30pm.
