Autism group’s legal days to continue after early success

Could we please say a very public thank you to the following people who helped make our free legal days for carers a success.

The families who were able to speak to Morisons’ solicitor, Emma Horne, are now a lot more aware of how to prepare for the financial security of their family thanks to Emma’s experience and knowledge.

The staff and committee of Southfield Community Centre in Duns, Focus Ability Centre in Gala and the Bridge in Peebles all made us feel very welcome and their venues were ideal to host such events. Special thanks to the committee of Focus Ability Centre in Gala for being so generous with their use of the Hayward room.

The three days held across the Borders have shown that the opportunity to offer free legal advice to carers is very much needed and appreciated, and has given us the assurance to continue with this scheme for 2013. The next opportunity will be on the last Friday of January in Galashiels – venue and times have still to be confirmed.

Many thanks to all the families who came to speak to Emma, to Emma herself for making the journey from Glasgow to the Borders and to Gillian Brown of Morisons’ Solicitors for being so supportive towards BAAGS and our supporters.
