A MARRIAGE of Canadian, Scottish and Irish music will be celebrated in the Eastgate Theatre this Wednesday.

Naturally, Outside Track’s members hail from Scotland, Ireland, Cape Breton and Vancouver in Canada, and combine to perform traditional music from all three countries.

The line-up comprises Norah Rendell, a former Canadian Traditional Singer of the Year nominee; Mairi Rankin of Cape Breton group Beolach; Live Ireland winner Ailie Robertson; BBC Fame Academy winner Fiona Black; and Cillian O’Dalaigh.

The band has enjoyed five years of extensive touring in the UK, Europe, Canada and the US, including appearances at Celtic Connections.

A spokesperson for the band said: “Using fiddle, accordion, harp, guitar, flute, step-dance and vocals, these five virtuosos blend boundless energy with unmistakable joie de vivre.”

Tickets are priced at £13 for the 7.30pm gig – phone 01721 725777 for more details.
