ALY Bain and Phil Cunningham return to Kelso this autumn for their ever-popular picnic concert.
Event organiser Peter Ferguson from pdf Productions said: “Having held this event in Kelso for a number of years now, it’s always a great joy to welcome them both back to the area to perform such a fantastic evening’s entertainment.
“Attending an Aly and Phil show is an unforgettable experience. Not only have they been described as ‘the best traditional musicians you are ever likely to hear’ they also have a reputation for their irrepressible sense of fun and quick-witted story-telling. This year’s event is expected to be yet another sell out.”
The folk legends performed their 25th anniversary tour last year across the whole of Scotland in front of a combined audience of 20,000 people.
Neither shows any signs of winding down, despite their 25 years on the road together.
Phil’s BBC series, The World Accordion to Phil, took him across the globe, filming from China to Brazil, and was met with great acclaim, while the latest series of Aly’s Transatlantic Sessions has likewise garnered praise.
Tickets for the Tait Hall show on Sunday, September 23 are £18.50 and can be bought from www.borderevents.com, or by phoning 01750 725480 or from Brown’s Newsagent in Kelso.
