Scottish Borders Council confirmed on Tuesday that work scheduled to take place on the A72 near Cardrona has had to be postponed.
It means traffic lights, which have been in place since a landslip at Nutwood on April 18, will remain in place.
The work, to place rock netting on a slope adjacent to the road, was due to take place this Wednesday and Thursday.
Once it was completed the traffic lights were to be removed until September, when final work on the affected slope was to carried out.
A council spokesperson said a contractor had been forced to postpone the work due to an ‘urgent project elsewhere’.
