VILLAGERS took their campaign to the doors of NHS Borders on Monday when local community council secretary Anne McDonald delivered more than 50 letters and an 800-name petition protesting against plans to close Yetholm and Morebattle surgeries.
Kelso doctors want to pull out of the weekly surgeries to the villages because they say the Morebattle surgery is not up to scratch and there have been complaints about the Yetholm service.

Yetholm community council chairman Stuart Smith said: “The village is very much ready for the fight and is supported by Michael Moore MP, John Lamont MSP and Jim Hume MSP.”

Villagers plan to present Kelso doctors with copies of the letters and petition.

Meanwhile, medical director Dr Ross Cameron from NHS Borders, doctors from the nine-strong Kelso practice, Mr Moore and Mr Lamont will attend Yetholm’s public meeting on Friday, November 30 at the Wauchope Hall.
