TWO Borderers died at the weekend following an accident on the B6369 between Haddington and Gifford, East Lothian, on Saturday.
Sixty-nine-year-old Beryl Humble, of Greenbank Street, Galashiels, and 68-year-old Kathleen McAuliffe, of Ellemford, near Duns, died after the vehicle they were travelling in lost control.

The silver-coloured Vauxhall Corsa was being driven southwards when it came off the road at a corner, and collided with a tree.

Emergency services rushed to the scene but were unable to save the lives of the two women.

The 51-year-old female driver is still in hospital receiving treatment for her injuries, which are not life threatening.

It is understood that the poor weather conditions at the time are at least partly to blame for the accident.

Police are still appealing for witnesses to the collision, which happened at around 5.25pm on Saturday (November 21).
