The Southern Reporter's Kevin Janiak asks Friday shoppers in Galashiels about shopping locally at Christmas.
This week, angry readers have contacted us to warn of the dangers of huge parking fines at the town's retail parks if you park longer than the stated time.

And this week, Scottish Borders Council revealed they are to close down several of the region's public toilets over the winter months.

We asked shoppers in Galashiels if either of these obstacles were likely to infringe on their shopping experience.

To read this story I must subscibe to read the rest of the article. No thanks, I can guess the rest. Shoppers all over the world have the same problem so whats new. We have here bus's that travel to Melbourne (450 kls) with shoppers who think they can get a bargain when in fact the same stuff is here if you care to look
