PLANNERS last week overrode objections to parking restrictions in Stow.
Scottish Borders Council’s Eildon Area Committee voted unanimously to press ahead with proposals to introduce restricted parking at the village’s post office and around a junction on Earlston Road at their meeting last Monday.

The move came after villagers complained about access and loading and unloading problems.

But one couple objected to the parking ban, arguing it was unnecessary for lorries that only visited once every three months or so. They were concerned the restrictions would lower the value of their property and said they were unable to create their own off-street parking.
