New director appointed

A NEW director of workforce has been appointed by NHS Borders.
Louise Hamilton-Welsh, pictured, took up her new post this week and will be responsible for change and development within the workforce.
She joins the local health team from NHS National Services where she has been head of modernisation workforce.
Local health board chairman Mary Wilson said: “Louise brings with her a wealth of workforce experience, drawn from a career which has spanned the public, private and voluntary sectors.
“The director of workforce is a full executive member of NHS Borders’ Board and placing the post at this high level is a strong indication that we believe our staff to be our most valuable resource.”
And Ms Hamilton-Welsh added: “My family have our home in this beautiful region and I look forward to investing in its future potential.”
