THEY may look like they have arrived straight from the 1970s, but Stevie Blake and friends are, in fact, raising money for a worthwhile cause.
Stevie and a group of 10 friends have been taking part in the Movember project, which has seen men across the world attempt to grow moustaches during November to highlight men’s health issues and specifically raise money for prostate cancer charity.

Stevie, who comes from Hawick, said: “Some of the moustaches have been better than others, with some turning ginger.

“They are not too popular with the wives and girlfriends but they know it is for a good cause.”

The group have so far raised nearly £400 in donations, and are set to tour around the Borders this Saturday to raise more cash before Stevie has his facial hair waxed off on Sunday.

You can pledge money towards the group at Hutchison Carpets in Galashiels or at uk.movember.com
