Nine-year-old cook Patrick Heger from Melrose gave an eggs-cellent performance when he won over £120 worth of prizes in the Eggs Factor regional cook off, writes Lucy Keen.
Patrick, one of the four finalists from across Scotland, cooked his dish for Edinburgh top chef Tony Singh. Patrick said he had no nerves in meeting and cooking for the chef: “He was really kind and helped me when my eggs went wonky.”

Although he failed to take first place, Patrick was still pleased with his experience: “It was really fun; I got to meet a famous chef and I got on really well with the other contestants.”
