A BULLY who carried out vicious attacks on two 13-year-old boys, knocking one of them unconscious, has been locked up for 10 months at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
Seventeen-year-old Ryan Edmison of Forest Crescent, Galashiels, forced his victims to lie on the ground before punching and kicking them on the head and body.

He even told one of the terrified youngsters to wait and that he was next as he attacked his friend.

The assaults happened in Livingstone Place, Galashiels, on April 26.

Edmison also pleaded guilty to several other charges, including vandalism causing £2,000 worth of damage in Galashiels during February and March, and also spitting in the face of a bus driver.

Sentencing him to 10 months in a young offenders institution, Sheriff Kevin Drummond told Edmison: “I have had, on occasion, to tell you that if you can’t stop then I can. That time has now come.

“Not withstanding that you have only just reached 17 years of age, your propensity for violence is well established and must be stopped.”

As well as the custodial sentence, Edmison was given a two-year criminal ASBO.

He has also been banned from every public house and off-licence in the Scottish Borders for the next 18 months.
