THE body of missing Gordon windsurfer Nigel Dawes has been found along the Fife coast.
The discovery was made on the shoreline at Kirkcaldy on April 25, 18 days after Mr Dawes was last seen windsurfing north of Eyemouth.
Police confirmed last Friday that the body was father-of-three Mr Dawes, who was a member of Selkirk Baptist Church.
His disappearance on April 7 prompted the biggest sea and air search along the east coast this year, involving lifeboats from Dunbar, Eyemouth and St Abbs, and an RAF rescue helicopter.
A windsurfing board was later found but no sighting of Mr Dawes was made by rescuers as the search was stood down.
Mr Dawes was said to have been an experienced windsurfer who had just become a father for a third time after his wife Carys gave birth to a baby girl. The couple also had two sons.
Lothian and Borders Police said there are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
