Jules hopes to repeat Fringe success

JEDBURGH-BASED writer Jules Horne currently has her latest production featuring in this year’s Edinburgh Fringe.

Black comedy Still Points in a Turning World follows last year’s festival show, Allotment, also by Jules, which won a Fringe First Award.

Jules said: “It explores friendship, the choices we make and who we become when our memories start to fade.”

The story follows Joan, William and Izzy, friends since primary school.

Julessaid: “In the secure but suffocating embrace of a 1950s Scottish seaside community, who gets to become the person they want to be?

“The bittersweet tale of Izzy, William and Joan and their love of sewing, dancing and each other was inspired by an ancient but intact sewing box crammed with threads, buttons and vintage haberdashery found by director Kate Nelson in an Edinburgh junk shop.”

Still Points in a Turning World is at the St Mark’s Church Hall on Castle Terrace until August 26 at 6.45pm or 8.15pm, (Thursday 2.45pm and 4.15pm). Tickets are priced at £10 or £8.50.

There is another chance to see Allotment at the Fringe as part of its current UK tour, at Inverleith Allotments until Sunday.
