SELKIRK charity Scottish HART is holding its Burns Supper in the Focus Centre in Galashiels this month.

Allan Marshall will deliver the principal toast to The Immortal Memory of Robert Burns, with Ken Fotheringham from Jedburgh proposing the toast to The Lassies, which Hawick’s Joyce Tinlin will reply to.

Burns enthusiast David Sanderson from Galashiels takes a break from piping this year to deliver recitations of poems by the Bard, including Tam o’ Shanter. BBC Radio Selkirk journalist Angela Soave, who also stays in Galashiels, will be entertaining with her singing, with Joyce Tinlin and Allan Marshall also providing musical entertainment.

Tickets for the mixed Burns Supper are now on sale from the Focus Centre, Niki’s Bar, and by phoning Scottish HART on 01750 721297.

Scottish HART’s Burns Supper takes place on Saturday, January 19, with a 7.30pm start.
