Borderers enjoy a taste of Burns

editorial image

BORDERERS headed west on Saturday for the Warrant Officers and Sergeants’ Mess of 6th Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland (6 Scots) Burns supper in Ayr.

This Territorial Army unit has branches all across Scotland and Galashiels was among those represented. Some men who attended had recently returned from a tour of duty in Afghanistan.

As they were the hosts, the Ayr branch organised a tour of the Burns museum, Brig O’ Doon, Auld Kirk and Burns’ cottage before the meal.
