THE annual rally of the Borders Vintage Agricultural Club takes place on Saturday and Sunday at the Border Union Showground at Springwood Park on the outskirts of Kelso.
Saturday starts off with a vintage auction at noon, with a car boot sale within the showground throughout the day.
A rally spokesman commented: “As ever, there is a huge entry of exhibits for the discerning vintage enthusiast; not just tractors and farm implements, but also cars, commercial vehicles, motorcycles, bikes, and a host of other survivors from a bygone age; in fact something for every taste.
“Among the working exhibits will be stationary engines and a period rock crusher for those who appreciate the heavy stuff. Don’t miss the scarecrow competition with entries from many local schools – you might see someone you know, or even some washing off your clothesline.
“The traders will be there, with the regular stalls along with a sprinkling of new faces. For the real bargain-seekers, the plethora of autojumble and car boot stalls may well hold a hidden treasure that might see the light of day on the Antiques Roadshow in years to come, or maybe just add a little to a collection.”
The rally has a long tradition of good weather – but rain or shine, visitors will be assured of a good day out in one of the finest permanent showgrounds in Scotland.
