VISITORS to Hawick Museum are being given the chance to take a step back in time.
From now until Sunday March 7, Victorian objects from the museum collection, including paintings and photographs, are being displayed in themed sets.
A Victorian dining room, photographer's studio and a traditional classroom with old-fashioned desks, school slates and ink pens for visitors to try out are also on display.
To accompany the exhibition, an education project is also available for schools.
Councillor Graham Garvie said: "This is a fascinating exhibition which gives a real sense of what life was like back in Victorian times.
"Local schools can come along and experience the old schoolroom – a rare opportunity to find out what school life was like back then. I am sure the exhibition will be a great success."
The museum is open Monday to Friday (noon to 3pm) and Sunday 1pm-3pm. Admission is free and there is wheelchair access. For enquiries, phone Richard White or Shona Sinclair on 01450 373457.
