JAZZ singer June James will be accompanied by two of the Borders Big Band's key players for a romantic evening of music in the Wynd Theatre, Melrose, next Friday, February 12.
Chris Achenbach and Jimmy Taylor will join June for a selection of sentimental and melodic numbers. They will also play ballads, upbeat swing and Latin music to celebrate St Valentine’s Day.

Since moving to the Borders more than three years ago, June has established her own monthly jazz evenings alongside some of the best local musicians at Le Jardin in Kelso, and has featured at the Edinburgh Festival and across the central belt.

Chris Achenbach is a well-known musician and jazz pianist, living in Galashiels, and is musical director of the Borders Big Band, while Jimmy Taylor is described as one of Scotland’s top double bass players and lives in Edinburgh. He also plays double bass with the BBB.

The gig begins at 8pm and tickets are available from 01896 820028 or bookings@thewynd.com
