ONE of the String Jam Club's most popular nights of the year – the Burns Night Bash – will once again see The Salmon in Galashiels open its doors to all musicians on Saturday.
“Instead of booking a headline artist as we normally do, we welcome all musicians everywhere to take part in this magical music marathon,” said String Jam Club’s Allie Fox.

“Everyone will be a star for the night, performing two or three numbers, d
ependent on how many people turn up to play.

“If previous years are anything to go by, then the night will be a knockout, whether you are performing or just coming along for the experience.”

As ever, Helen Calder of the Salmon will provide her homemade haggis pies, with veggie ones also available, to feed the hungry audience and musicians, and there will also be a piper and a raffle.

“The Burns Night Bash is a fantastic showcase for the huge musical talent that is everywhere in the Borders, so whatever age you are, whatever style of music you play, whether you’re into jazz, folk, blues or singer-songwriters or whatever, whether you perform original material or do covers, whoever you are – we want to hear you play,” added Fox.

“You don't have to be a musician to be part of this event – many of our regular audience have said that this is one of their favourite gigs in their musical calendar.”

If you would like to book a slot, phone 01750 720538 or contact stringjamclub@vixenrecords.com

Doors open at 7.15pm and admission is £7 on the door or £3 for musicians, with the ticket price including haggis pies.
