My family and I arrived at the official car park opposite the gate at Springwood Park, Kelso, on June 21 intending to watch group judging and best in show at the Border Union Dog Show.
Cars were pouring off the field. The time was 3.15pm. We were refused entry by the attendants as “the field has to be cleared and the gates will be locked at 5pm”.

The best in show started at 6pm. When we passed the car park later it was not locked.

Is Kelso in danger of losing its deserved reputation for good organisation and welcome to events?
