One of the Borders' friendliest and most popular traditional music festivals celebrates its 39th anniversary this weekend.
Every year since 1970, the village of Newcastleton welcomes hundreds of visitors from far and wide to play, sing and listen to music from a wealth of popular performers.
The family event coincides with Copshaw Common Riding, Newcastleton's unique take on Border festivals, and includes a range of concerts, ceilidhs, open sessions and workshops.
Among the highlights will be two dances, this year featuring Andrew Knight and Stuart Adamson, and the Grand Concert on Saturday evening will be hosted by Malcolm McEwen. There will also be competitions for singing, accordion, fiddle, poetry, bands, and a range aimed at under-16s and under-12s.
Newcastleton Traditional Music Festival runs at various local venues from July 4-6. Visit www.newcastleton.com for more information.
