Tickets are selling fast for Innerleithen Music Festival in August, which this year features performances from Karen Matheson, Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham.
Headlining in what will be one of just a few Scottish dates this year, Karen Matheson is best known as the lead singer of Capercaillie but is an established performer in her own right and was once described by Sean Connery as having a voice "surely t
ouched by the hand of God".
Tickets for Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham's concert sold out within six weeks of going on sale, prompting festival chair Robin Dempsey to remark: "It's a real tribute to the talent of these guys and, of course, a real boost to the festival itself."
As well as the headline acts, however, the festival will include various acts from across the Borders, as well as workshops, an outdoor concert at Traquair House, and concerts showcasing artists under Galashiels' Big Sky Studios label.
Organisers were also delighted after a version of Auld Lang Syne by Edinburgh duo The Cast, who appear at the festival's Traditional Singers concert, featured on the soundtrack of the film Sex and The City, above, released last month.
Singer Mairi Campbell, who was voted Scots Traditional Singer of the Year 2007, will also be presenting a Scots Song workshop at Traquair House.
Innerleithen Music Festival runs from 15-17 August.
