Lori's driven in search of fiddle gold

Borders musician Lori Watson has been chosen to represent Scotland at the prestigious MIDAS annual conference.
MIDAS (Music Institutions with Doctoral Arts Studies) is a European network of 16 conservatoires offering artistic doctorates and, at this year's conference in Oslo, Lori presented from a recent study involving a workshop of her Graphic Scores Series with four of Scotland's leading traditional musicians, Martin Green, Kevin MacKenzie, Catriona McKay and Aidan O'Rourke.
Lori, who is currently researching for a PhD at Glasgow's Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, plays with the renowned Border Fiddles whose album, Borders Young Fiddles, is a landmark in Borders and Scottish fiddle music.
Lori's own band, Rule of Three, released their debut album last year to critical acclaim and in the last year have toured all over Europe and the UK.
