Self-styled Scots traditional supergroup Old Blind Dogs are to perform an intimate concert at Denholm's newest music venue, the Denholm Meet, on next Sunday, May 18.
The band has been at the cutting edge of Scotland's roots revival for many years, developing its trademark style in which dynamic percussion fuels the delicate melodies of traditional songs.
Old Blind Dogs have twice been named Folk Band of the Year at the Scots Trad Music Awards, and in 2001 their album Fit? was a finalist in the Association of Independent Music's Celtic Album of the Year award.
Their energetic mix of songs and tunes with polished vocals, soaring fiddle playing and stirring pipes are punctuated with the pulse of the djembe and conga.
Old Blind Dogs features Jonny Hardie on fiddle and vocals, Aaron Jones on bouzouki and vocals, Fraser Stone on percussion and Ali Hutton on whistles and pipes.
Tickets from Denholm Meet – £10 in advance, £12 on the door. Limited capacity. Call 01450 870999.
