EVER wonder what a 'quilted clock' is or a 'nordic block'?
If you have, you can find out the answer at a special quilting event tomorrow and Saturday.
'Thistle Be' quilters Ann Hill and Kate Henderson will visit Selkirk tomorrow and Saturday with their exhibition of traditional and Scottish quilts.
They wi
ll also have a selection of fabrics and notions with them for sale over the two days.
Classes on how to make a quilted clock and nordic block are proving popular, so if anyone is interested in taking part in the class on the Friday evening from 6.30 – 9.30 give them a ring on 01387 830638.
Ann said: "I was fortunate enough to be invited to do a show and talk to a meeting in the Argus Centre earlier this year. The girls had invited other quilting groups from around the area and we had such a good night.
"The ladies were particularly interested in our Scottish collection which includes a Shetland quilt and a Burns quilt. I talked about our series of exhibitions we had planned for Dumfriesshire during the summer and they asked if we could bring it to Selkirk as well so here we are."
The exhibition starts on tomorrow at 1pm and runs through until Saturday afternoon at 4pm. Ann and her quilting partner Kate will be on hand with advice on colour matching, quilting techniques and to tell everyone about their extensive collection of quilting pieces large and small.
