The place is the cheapest to drink in anywhere in Edinburgh I know of. The bar maids are supermodels. Everyone is packed in so tight by the end of the evening its impossible to not to make freinds. Bar Salsa is one of the top bars in Edinburgh on my list.

I worked in this bar for four years roughly. I can understand some of the views people have written but this bar ROCKED!!! The only time staff were rude was if the customer was rude, generally everyone was great. Yeah the bar is small and dark but it has character. There were always different nationalties both working and drinking in that place and it made it all the more fun. The music kept everyones spirits up and the staff were fun and friendly. The manager is always up for a laugh.
The regulars brought heaps of life to the place. Yeah we did have one or two rubbish doormen, but generally they were all friendly and chatty, one in particular was great!! And come one, the drinks are cheap as chips, and we can make a mean cocktail when asked!
if you dis the place thats fine, just dont go back, simple! But if you liked it, keep going cause I guareentee you will love it and become one of those fun loving regulars we loved and love so much!

The Salsa bar is a lively little bar located between the Grassmarket and the Cowgate. I'm not entirely sure why it is called Bar Salsa - it serves tequilla?! It's dark and small but usually crowded at the weekends, perhaps because it is so central. There is hardly any seating and it is very very basic, but the bar staff are chatty and there is a phenomenal shot called “evil dead”…I recommend it as a quick stop on a night out.

This bar was very small and dingy. It was like a sauna with all the windows steamed up. It only had 1 cubile/toilet which was filthy and the tables were basicall upturned barrells. Had good offers on drinks but that did not make up for the surroundings.
