Hunters is cheap, friendly and VERY busy at the weekend! Food is cheap n cheerful, decor is nice n bright and the loos are always spotless. Look out for the cute Irish duty manager!!! :)

Great Wetherspoons pub. The beer is excellent and even better its cheap. And I think thats whats so good about Wetherspoons pubs - your money goes further and thats what brings you back and back again.
The food is hit and miss - I think the only thing fresh are the steaks the rest is either deep fried or microwaved - but its cheap. But I think you know what you are getting and the prices match this.
Good family pub.

All the usual Wetherspoons suspects - a cheap pint, a cheap feed, OK atmosphere, quite often children running around, so it’s good for families. Food can sometimes be a bit substandard (but then again we don’t go there for a gourmet meal) - we’ve had overcooked and dry pasta, and several meals served luke-warm. Staff usually helpful and pleasant. Gets very busy Thursday/Friday and Saturday nights with pre-club crowd.

Spoons as it is lovingly known is the perfect place for a quick post work pint…the comfy sofas and warm atmosphere make it a great place during the week for a quiet drink. The beer and burger offer is great too should the after work pint turn into seven.

Once strange thing about the pub is the queueing habits of the drinkers…it must be about the only pub I have been in where people form an orderly queue along the bar and wait to be served rather than push straight to the front…and oh the looks you get if you do not take your correct place in the queue!

Other draw back is the really addictive quiz machine which has nearly bankrupted me on several occaisions…still a great pub though…go for it!

Its a Wetherspoon chain pub. The Hunters can be very busy depending on the time of day and sometimes the wait for food can be quite long. I’ve found staff to be a bit uninterested at times and the food can be average at times. However with the kids ontow it can be an easy place to sit and get some lunch for very reasonable prices, the nearest other choice is a MacDs.

Can’t say I’ve tried the beer variety as I am driving whenever we’ve been there but it does seem to have its share of people just drinking and not eating

Part of the Wetherspoons chain, this pub meets all the usual requirements of a 'Spoons’ pub. However in Galashiels this is the busiest pub you will find and dont expect to get a seat on Curry night despite the fact the pub opposite also does a curry deal on the same night and there are several Indian restaurants in the town.

The bar has gone through several refurbishments in the last few years which they obviously didnt like and has now settled for couches at the front with some basic tables and chairs, while to the back you will find booth seats and high tables. This is fine if you are in for a drink, but it can be quite awkward eating dinner at the high tables. You will also find that people queue at the bar here which is a phenomenon I have never seen anywhere else in the world!

Hunters Hall is a good place for a quick or cheap meal and the perfect start to a night out in Galashiels. There is a huge mix of different people in here and this is one of the few Wetherspoons which plays music. You can also catch big matches here as well.
