Could I thank the Scottish Community Foundation for the grant of £1,200 which they have awarded BAAGS (Borders Asperger & Autism Group Support).
This money will allow us to purchase a laptop, printer, display boards and some much-needed stationery items.
As most people know, BAAGS produces regular snippets of news, as well as booklets and posters and questionnaires etc. These have all been
designed on a very ancient personal computer. The funding we have received will allow us to produce better-quality documents, as well as enable us to attend public exhibitions (such as the Big Event next Thursday in the Volunteer Hall, Galashiels) and display our posters promoting our training events.
BAAGS is again hosting a training seminar which will be of benefit and interest to anyone involved in living and/or working with a person with asperger syndrome/autism/ASD. It will take place on Wednesday, June 4, from 10am until 1pm, lunch will be provided afterwards and it only costs £45 (£25 for BAAGS members).
The speaker/trainer is Luke Beardon, a leading specialist in the field of autism and senior lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University.

I would like to thank Asda, Galashiels, and its customers who gave so generously to Harmony on May 3.
We raised the sum of £294 which will help to provide free concerts for care homes, long-stay hospital wards and day centres for the elderly throughout the Borders.
