Who will pay rail fare?

So the Borders Railway link will happen according to Cllr Jim Brown – I wonder who will be able to afford to use it.

A comparable route distance-wise is Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire to London Marylebone. An anytime day return costs £28.60 and an annual season ticket £3,520.

If it is not us as council tax payers that will be paying, who is going to subsidise the line?

I’ll stick to my car or the bus should I wish to go to Edinburgh thank you very much.
