Positive feedback to hospital workshop

I would like to thank a wonderful lady, volunteer Pam Whitson, for working hard and helping our charity set up a half-day Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) workshop at Borders General Hospital.

The event was hosted in the chaplaincy centre on June 25.

Keynote speaker Mary K. Cunningham B.Ed, P.H.Ec., FASD educator from Toronto, Canada, was invited into the UK by FASawareUK to share eight workshops.

The aim of each individual workshop was to share “What is Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder? How it happens and its impact on education”. At the event I, founder and accredited trainer for FASawareUK, also shared a presentation, “Living with FASD”.

At the BGH workshop there was a mixed audience consisting of 55 professional and parents/carers. The overall feedback was positive and our charity has been asked to host similar events in the locality.
