Innerleithen club’s approval

PLANNING councillors have said Leithen Vale Sports Club can go ahead with proposals to place three metal shipping containers at its football pitch on the edge of Victoria Park.

They will replace a crumbling wooden hut which is being demolished by Scottish Borders Council.

Two of the units will be used as changing facilities and the third for storage.

There were no objections to the containers and permission has only been granted for three years.

The hut that is about to be pulled down was deemed to be inadequate and in a state of deterioration.

Agreement between the club and the council will have to be reached on the shade of blue which the containers will be painted.

The containers will be placed in a U-shape between the existing structures that are being retained at the park.
