Ednam schoolchildren’s dance date

schoolchildren from the Borders will perform in the main ring at the Highland Show this week.

Ednam Primary School is one of 12 primary classes from across Scotland celebrating the country’s produce. The 21 youngsters in P5, 6 and 7 will be wearing blue T-shirts for a dance and rhyme performance tomorrow at 2pm.

Borders Royal Highland Education Trust (RHET) project co-ordinator Lesley Mason, who invited the school to take part, will give the youngsters a guided tour of the show.

She said: “I watched one of the final rehearsals and the pupils were brilliant and very excited to be performing in front of so many people.

“I chose Ednam Primary School because the class had produced a fantastic project on eggs for the [RHET] Farmhouse Breakfast competition. Unfortunately it did not meet the criteria asked for in the competition guidelines, but because so much work had gone into it, and the quality of the work was so high, we felt the class deserved this trip to the Highland show, to perform in the main ring.”
