Call for community support as Stow church celebrates its past

STOW and Heriot Church has arranged a series of events to mark its special Stewardship Season.

A major exhibition displaying the history of the local church and anecdotes from the past was shown at Heriot Church on Saturday.

It will be repeated at Stow Church this Saturday between 10am and 4pm, with the display enhanced by exhibits of local weddings and christenings with attractive flower arrangements.

A celebratory concert is
also being held this Friday evening at Stow Church featuring local performers including the Scottish Borders Pipe Band and Gala Water Singers. Everyone is welcome with free entry.

Stow and Heriot Church minister the Rev Victoria Linford is hoping the local community will support both events in Stow this weekend.

She said:”Our church shares a special place in the history and life of the Gala Water valley, and we think our exhibition will be of interest to everyone.”

The Stewardship Season essentially involves congregations looking at the talents, givings and time which they give to their church.
